The MN High School Cycling League brings together coaches, assistant coaches, ride leaders, and parent volunteers—both new and experienced—to develop skills and knowledge, share strategies, and build community.
This conference provides the opportunity for participants to learn all about the league structure and processes, how to start a mountain bike team, how to work with their schools, issues related to liability, and the unique intricacies of working with high school cyclists.
The primary goal for the Leaders’ Summit is to license parents and adults as new coaches for the MN League. In addition, training is offered for ride leaders, assistant coaches, or volunteers. An ideal opportunity for new and seasoned coaches to share thoughts and opinions – it is the perfect environment to get charged up for the coming season.
Prerequisites for Attending the Leaders’ Summit
Thank you for your interest in attending the 2017 Minnesota High School Cycling League Leaders’ Summit. This year, we are providing an opportunity for you to attend two of the fundamental training seminars in the comfort of your own home before the summit. Risk Management is the foundation of the NICA program. The Coach Licensing Process is something everyone wishing to participate in the Minnesota League needs to know. NICA Administrators will be providing exclusive opportunities for Minnesota General Volunteers, Ride Leaders, Assistant and Head Coaches to obtain this information ahead of the summit through online webinar training.
View the NICA Risk Management Webinar here.
View the NICA Coach Licensing and Volunteer Registration Process here.
Attending either the live presentation or viewing the webinars of these presentations is mandatory if you are a new coach or volunteer. If you cannot attend the live versions of these webinars, do not worry. A each will be recorded and available Monday, March 14th. It is far better to attend the live version of these presentations, as this will provide you the opportunity ask questions and participate actively, and there is a limited time for you to view each before the Summit on April 16th if you wait for release of the recordings. There will be discussion on each presentation during the Summit, so please be sure you either attend one of them. Again, they are mandatory.
Please send an email to Bruce Martens, NICA Coach and Licensing Director for an invitation to the webinars. You can reach him at: firstname.lastname@example.org
You will receive an email with a link to join the webinars.
Thank you again for your interest in joining us for the 2017 Minnesota High School Cycling League Leaders’ Summit. We look forward to what will surely be our greatest event yet and hope that you find the opportunity to attend these two fundamental seminars in the comfort of your own home a pleasant enhancement to our program.
